Dana Olson – Senior Pastor

Dana Olson is the Senior Pastor of Faith Baptist Fellowship.  Dana does the majority of the preaching, leads the staff, and serves as an elder at Faith.  From 1996-2009 he was Director of Prayer First, the prayer mobilization ministry of Converge Worldwide (Baptist General Conference), speaking at hundreds of churches and conferences and leading teams to a dozen mission fields.  Dana has over 20 years of experience encouraging and mobilizing prayer in churches and movements, and is part of America’s National Prayer Committee and the Denominational Prayer Leaders Network (including 7 years as chair).  From 1983-1996 Dana was Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Lincoln, NE.  Yes, that makes him a Cornhuskers fan!

Dana and his wife Christa have been married for 27 years and have three adult daughters: Anna at home, Mary living and serving Christ in the Philippines, and Betsy, a sophomore physics major at Union University.  A pastor’s son, Dana’s father was in ministry for over 50 years, and now both mom and dad are members at Faith.

David Vilhauer – Associate Pastor of Discipleship

Dave currently serves as the team leader of the Walking Ministry Group which is organized to provide opportunities to interact with others in order to grow stronger in God’s Word and deepen your walk with Him.  The Walking Group is comprised of teams providing leadership in the areas of:  Children’s Discipleship, Youth Discipleship, Faith Groups, Faith University, and Women’s Ministry.  David’s primary spiritual gifts are in the areas of Teaching, Serving and Shepherding.

David was raised on a small farm near Olivet, S.D.  He attended Olivet grade school, Menno High School and graduated from South Dakota State University in 1978 with a BS degree in both Biology and Dairy Manufacturing.  After graduation, he served on active duty in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, including a one-year tour in Korea.  In 1983 he began working for Kraft Foods in New Ulm, MN as a Food Technologist and later as Quality Control Supervisor.  It was during his time in New Ulm that he met Evonne and they were married Oct 5th, 1985.  In 1989 they moved to Beaver Dam, WI where he began working for Beatrice Cheese as a Quality Assurance Manager.  Undoubtedly the biggest event of their time there was the adoption of their daughter, Kimberly.  She was born Nov 9th, 1995 and came home to live with them Dec 26, 1995.  In October of 1998 they moved back to the Sioux Falls area where Dave attended North American Baptist Seminary (now Sioux Falls Seminary).  He graduated May 2001 with a Masters in Educational Ministries (2-year degree).  In August of 1999 he began interning here at Faith Baptist Fellowship.  February 2001 he was hired as a part time Pastor of Christian Education and Assimilation.  In June 2004 Dave was officially called as full time Pastor of Christian Education and Assimilation.

David Moe – Pastor of Student Ministries, Service and Outreach

Pastor Dave Moe has served as the Pastor of Student Ministries at Faith Baptist since August of 1998.  He received his Master’s Degree from Bethel Seminary in Minnesota where he also served in another ConVerge Worldwide church for 10 years before moving to Sioux Falls.  Dave and his wife Sharyn have four children, Peter, Kassandra, Alana and Caleb.  Dave’s primary ministry at Faith is to nurture the spiritual growth of our church’s youth.  In addition, he oversees the area of service and outreach for our congregation, which consists of four ministry teams, Benevolence, Evangelism, Kingdom Opportunities and Missions.   Dave loves sharing the Gospel, networking with area and district youth ministers, partnering with local ministries, as well as discipling and equipping others for evangelism.  He enjoys video production, traveling, spending time with family, playing the drums and making a very hot salsa!
